In all things, a Werewolf must be loyal to the Pack, the species, themselves, and the Laws of the Council.
To be loyal to the Pack, a Werewolf must respect and work to maintain the order of their Pack. Insubordination and lack of cohesion leads to anarchy and exposure.
This does not, however, mean that a Werewolf should not speak out when they notice something wrong within the Pack, disagree with a Pack decision, or have information vital to the Pack.
To truly be loyal to the pack, a Werewolf must put the wellbeing of their Pack above their own needs and ambitions and care for the Pack above all else. Therefore it is necessary and expected that any Werewolf must needs speak up and speak out when they feel a decision is not in the best interests of the pack, whenever they have information that might alter or expand an Elder’s thinking or reasoning, and in any situation where they are uncomfortable.
Silence is death.
A Werewolf must be trustworthy in all things. In your actions, be true. In your words, be true. In your heart, be true.
Lies, theft, and deceit are not tolerated in a Pack, or in our society at large. One must avoid these failings at all costs.
Trustworthiness also means that a Werewolf must be reliable to what they say, for themselves and for others.
Werewolves are, by their nature, kind and gentle creatures of nature. The Council expects all Werewolves to reflect this virtue in all their interactions with other Werewolves and with humans alike.
We may have a reputation for violence and savagery in battle, but when we are at peace, we are calm and tranquil.
Werewolves are, at all times, under threat from myriad forces and foes. A Werewolf must be brave at all times.
It is important to note, that bravery is not the absence of fear, it is the certain and deliberate action to do what is right in the face of fear.
A Werewolf must take pride in themselves, their appearance, and their den. Keeping clean is the first step to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.
While the Catholic Church may say “cleanliness is next to godliness,” we know that cleanliness is useful here in the eternal present. Being clean and cleanly of mind helps a Werewolf’s attitude and mood.
And it keeps fleas away, too.
A Werewolf must show compassion for oneself and for others, pack mates and total strangers. Extend yourself for others and they will return the favour for you. Only through working together can we overcome our collective foes.
Compassion means taking the time to be present for one another in times of unrest and difficulty; but, it also means taking time to be present for one another in times of joy and fun as well. A compassionate Werewolf is present in the moment, aware and tuned to their pack mates, compatriots, companions, and friends.
Werewolves do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sex, gender identity, or gender expression; race, nationality, national origin, or ethnicity; age; ability or disability; height, weight, fur colour, eye colour, or any other physical characteristics; mental health or trauma history; strength; personality; moon phase; education, occupation, or vocation; or language.
Werewolves are an inclusive species. We recognise that the strength of The Pack is the diversity of The Pack. We are all different from one another, and through those differences, we are infinitely stronger and more capable than without them.
A Werewolf must be passionate about life, about their personal interests, and/or about the natural world.
A Werewolf must be patient.
As Werewolves, we have the fire and fury of Gaia on our side. Without patience, we can become mindless beasts.
A Werewolf listens to argument and debate, considers situations and variables carefully, and works towards understanding and least resistance in all things.
Patience, like water, can lead you to an ocean of possibilities and cut through the hardest stone.
All Werewolves must be reverent.
Reverence to nature, to the Earth, to the Universe, and to those who will walk after us.
We must respect Mother Nature and fight ruthlessly for her protection.
We all share a moment within the great circle, it is our responsibility and highest honour to use that moment to ensure those who follow benefit from what we have wrought.
